The Pertonas Towers, were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 and remain the tallest twin towers in the world. Also known as the Petronas Twin Towers, these buildings are a landmark of Kuala Lumpur. The towers feature a diamond-facade consisting of 83 500 square metres of stainless steel extrusions. The stainless steel elements of the towers are composed of 55 000 square metres of 20.38 millimetre laminated glass to reduce heat by reflecting harmful UV rays. 170 m above the ground and 58 m long is the skybridge connecting the towers on the 41st and 42nd floor.
